a summer must
I am living in these tank tops this summer. {See 4th of July pix to see me in the red, white, and blue version of this pattern.} They are from Walmart and they are on clearance for $3.50 right now. Snazz 'em up with jewelry, wear 'em on a run, or pair 'em with your fav jeans. You can't go wrong. Especially when it's 90 frickin' degrees as it is in these parts.
Just an FYI. You know I love me some good deals :)

Being two.
Becks loves to water. To help us give the front yard a good soak...and himself. For good measure, you know.
I should really just bring out some soap and suds him up right then and there. My bathroom floors would stay a lot drier if I opted for outdoor summer showers. {He thinks of the bathtub more as a waterpark these days...}
I wonder how long these piggies will remain delicious? Edible almost. Kissable, definitely.
But it's the coming inside part that really turns the waterworks on. And not from the hose. When you're two, every change in your plan is a big deal. A really big deal. Especially when your two-year-old body wants to do something different than your mommy wants. Like pee on the floor. Or hit the living room walls with a plastic shovel. Or keep watering the flowers even when it's bedtime. Things can get rough.
But we'll manage. Because, despite his terrible two-nishness, he still gives the biggest hugs, laughs the giggliest giggles, dances the silliest dances, and says the darndest things (i.e. Beckham have nipples?). Sigh. I love this kid. Waterworks and all.

Not Me Monday
Not me, nope, I'd never be the kind of mommy to watch my jumpin' monkey (his words, not mine) perform acrobatics on my bed. I'm definitely not that irresponsible. Also, I would never, ever, ever leave him unattended on the bed to go grab the camera and snap away while he jumped away. That would be irresponsible and stupid. Definitely not something I would do. Ever. Promise.

A little song by Becks
***ETA: Sorry! Video is no longer private! Thanks, Gina!***
Becks decided to serenade us after being in the car for a looooong time. He began just babbling and then broke into an unprompted rendition of the ABCs and concluded with saying something about lightening bugs. Random but cute. Enjoy :)

Funny you should ask...
Becks had his big 2-year check up this week and is growing like a weed!
Here's his stats:
36 inches tall (90th percentile)
30 pounds (75th percentile)
Prevnar + HepA Vaccines = Fussy/Irritable for the past 2 days
He greeted Dr. C when she walked in by saying That Dr. C? and then he didn't stop talking or climbing all over the place for the next 20 minutes. Chocolate animal crackers didn't even shut him up. When it came to the developmental/cognitive check-up, she said I'm not even going to ask whether or not he puts at least 2 words together or if his vocabulary is at least 50 words!
Takin' after his mama in height and gabbin,' that's for sure!
