{Bedhead.}
- How happy am I that two of my favorite reality stars are on DWTS?! Monday nights just got a little more interesting since Sitch and Audrina are on. I hope Justin Bobby and Snooki are audience members sometime this season - they can marvel over each other's hair.
- Becks has his first full day of school tomorrow. He gets to take his lunch box and everything. I'm kinda kicking myself for not ordering a cute little monogrammed number from L.L. Bean or something, but the plastic Batman one that his daddy was given as a going-back-to-school gift will have to do. Temporarily.
- I'm not feeling good about eating an enormous slice of chocolate mousse cake from Cosco today at school. {Has anyone had Cosco cakes? Because they are really good. Not as good as my mom's, but as far as store-bought goes, they totally...ahem...take the cake!}
- I really want a pair of riding boots for fall. And some booties too. Thoughts? Suggestions?
- I went to bed at - get this - 9:08pm on Friday night and slept until 7am the next morning. I haven't been in bed before 9:30pm since possibly middle school. Not even kidding.
- Do any of my bloggy teacher friends participate in an RTI (response to intervention) block at their school? If so, how do you implement it? Please let me know.
- Dear Lindsay Lohan, please stop doing drugs. Thanks.
- Becks was up at 12midnight last night. Wailing. After I couldn't console him or rock him back to sleep, he slept with us for an hour before I'd had about enough of his feet in my face. So at 1:17am I decided that I might just have to turn the monitor off if he continued with the wailing once put back in bed. Thank goodness he didn't because 5:30am came awful early.
- I am ready for fall weather. It was almost 90 degrees today and, darnit, that is too hot for the end of September. I'm ready for butternut squash soup and pumpkin muffins. YUM.
- What are your thoughts on Activia yogurt? I am, intentionally, not going to elaborate.
Happy Monday!!!!!

I can't wait to see Audrina on DWTS, esp to see if she's just as awkward. I made pumpkin muffins tonight, I really wanted to get into a fall mood!
LOVIN' THAT BEDHEAD! omiword!
RTI- yes. All of our kids are tested within the first few weeks of school. We have scheduled RTI times built into our schedule. I could explain more if interested. :)
I am thinking 10:03 might be my bedtime tonight!
NIGHT!
Such a cute pic! For the activia yogurt, I like it, but get sick of it. Have you tried Greek yogurt?
1. I'm hoping to see the moody Justin Bobby in the DWTS audience, too.
6. We do RTI but at the JH level it's probably a lot different.
7. Add Paris Hilton to that list!
8. I turned the baby monitor off a long time ago. No judgment here if you do.
AND cute pic of the bedhead!
What an adorable picture :)
I missed DWTS tonight but will definitely tune in next week!
I so wish I could fall asleep that early...that'd be so nice!
Hope you have a great week :)
We're sort of just starting RTI so I don't think I'm much help. As a grade level, we do something called "Team Time" 2 days/week to work on one skill at a time in differentiated groups. Also -- I love boots and I'm planning to blog about them this week!!
you are hilarious! as far as riding boots go i got some adorable ones from target last year- and they have them again this year- i wore the heck out of them.

Look at that bedhead!! haha love it!
Beck's bedhead picture just made my morning a little brighter! Nice to know I'm not the only one who wakes up looking like I stuck my finger in an electric socket lol
That picture's hilarious!
Bad run-in with Activia? My brother's wife bought the FiberOne bars (or something similar) and he thought they were so good he ate like 4 one day at work, not realizing they were so high in fiber... needless to say he learned his lesson!
RE: RTI, you should check out Pat Quinn, the RTI Guy @ http://thertisite.learningtodayonline.com/ultimate/Default.aspx I saw him present and he is awesome! He also has a book and I think some videos too. Very helpful. If you sign up for his newsletter he will send you weekly RTI tips and tricks.
We do a form of RTI at my site. Each grade level has an assigned half hour throughout the day. We are given side support and the kids are suffled around for ELD and extra reading help or enrichment. Other grade levels do more, but it's what's set up for the site. I don't love. E-mail me if you want more info or have more ?'s!
Love the bedhead pic!! So cute!! And I am so with you on #7!! Amen!!
We do RTI at my school. We've been doing it for about 3 years now and I've taught it w/ K, 2nd and 3rd so I might be able to offer you some advice if you'd like! What questions do you have??
I'm actually the K-1 RTI teacher at my school this year. We use the Scott Foresman program My Sidewalks on Reading Street. I tested all the kids at the beginning of the year, and those who qualified I meet with 30 min a day. Does your school have any type of program set up? If you have any questions on the type of activities we do I'd love to share some with you! (enjoyyourselfblog@gmail.com)
soo... what did you think of DWTS? and yes- love costco cakes...delish!
We do RTI-but do it randomly-it's more of an "As needed" basis. Another school in our system (Forsyth COunty in GA) does their RTI first thing in the morning from 7:20-8:00 and everyone participates. I think they departmentalize and each teacher uses it as a review time and has the kids grouped by ability level-I'm sure they use a baseline test or something. Where do you teach?
I love Costco cakes...but not as much as I love that picture of Becks! Hilarious!
1. That picture is hilarious and adorable at the same time.
2. Get the riding boots:-) I got a pair of suede tan boots last year and am so happy to wear them again now.
3. Activia yogurt didn't make a dime of difference for me. But I hate yogurt and maybe I didn't eat it as *regularly* (pardon the pun) as I should have?
4. I know nothing about RTI.
5. I go to bed before 9:30 all the time. I love sleep! :-)
I LOVE our RTI blocks. We have one for reading and one for math (STAR and Math Success). We base our reading groupings on DIBELS, Reading 3-D, and classroom observation and change as necessary. Our math groups change each 3 weeks, because we have a 3 week curriculum calendar. Every 3 weeks we focus on new standards, and at the end of the 3 weeks we test on it. I love that we have a specific time to catch up struggling readers, and I really love that in math we focus on getting EVERY student to mastery on the standards for the last 3 weeks even while we move on to new standards in the core math curriculum. It also gives us a definite opportunity for enrichment with the mastery kids, which I think can be hard sometimes.
I don't think we could do it effectively without as many staff as we have, but I do love RTI blocks the way they run right now!
OMG, I srsly want to submit that pic to a contest of some sort.......super goofy and adorable. Love it!
