Noted: This is a shallow hair post.

When I was in college, I remember getting ready to go out and commiserating with my roommate and BFF, Allison, that I was having a bad face night.  A bad face night is similar to having a bad hair day.  It's when your makeup looks off, an acne stampede is migrating across your forhead, and your complexion is rather drab and sallow.  Regardless of how you really look, you think you look totally blah.  Combine that with a bad hair day and all bets are off.  You mights as well scrub your face clean, throw your hair up in a pony, pull on the sweats, and pop anything with Kate Hudson in the cast into your DVD player because there's no way you can go out looking like that. True story.  These things happen.

Anyway, I say this because I am having a bad hair and face week.  The much-to-blonde isn't doing anything for my almost-nil tan.  If I don't get color soon, I am likely to wind up a trailer trashy mess of dark roots and split ends, unable to leave the house for fear that I will be mistaken for Britney Spears pre-head shave.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: it's amazing how my hair affects my self-esteem.  I just hit the 4-inch roots wall and -bam!- I NEED TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT NOW.  No, YESTERDAY!  DES.PER.ATE.  No color from a box this time.

And I think I am done with bleach blonde.  At least for awhile.  Like maybe until March.

I already have some inspiration in mind.  Nope, not a celebrity.  Well, she's a celebrity in her own right.  It's Hollie, from All Things in Moddy.  She has the best hair and was a former blonde too.  I told her how much I loved her new color and it's probably creepy that I'm going to print a pic of her to show my stylist, but it's the truth!  I love her color {and she's so stinkin' pretty too}!

Or, I could dye just the top layer of my hair and go as JWoww for Halloween...

I hear ya! My roots are mega long and I want to crawl under the sheets until my appt. on Saturday! I also just spent $30 of my hard-earned student teacher pay (yeah right) on volumizing products and my hair is still el flat-o. Ugh. Bad hair year!

Girl...know how you feel. I need a haircut/color so bad. I love Hollie's hair color and think it would look great! I'm currently having an acne stampede so commiserate with me please? It's been fabulous. Hope you get your hair did soon! :)

My hair needs work too but I am just letting it grow out. I don't want to dye my hair anymore. =) Your friend Hollie has gorgeous hair and she also looks like Trista from The Bachelorette(at least I think she does).

On another note, can you believe Audrina was voted off tonight on DWTS? I just remember you saying something about her being on there. It definitely was not her time to go.
Have a good rest of the week!

So i'm not usually a big commenter on anyones blog, but have felt the need to comment on yours the last two days. I could totally 100% relate on the fussy toddler yesterday (mine is still fussy... 2nd molars causing teething we think), but I was also dicussing with my husband my discusting roots that have not been touch since June! I remember the days when I routinely got them highlighted every six weeks (or less sometimes) before I was married. Those were the days! I'm thinking of going dark for the first time ever in the next couple weeks because the blonde is just too expensive! Best of luck to you!

P.S. we should totally be friend in real life because we'd have a lot of the same stuff to complain about :)

Abs-I'm SO feelin' ya. I've totally been in a "slump" lately...looked at my roots yesterday, and promptly called my stylist to have those puppies taken care of. Now I'm counting down the days til next Wednesday morning when I can feel "whole again." In fact-my SIL is keeping Henry while I have my appointment (and we all know how a few hours of pampered bliss can do a mama's soul good) I may just eat lunch by myself too!

you are so funny, i've always thought YOU were beautiful. :-) your hair always looks great to me....like in every picture!

about the makeup, yes, i've certainly had to reevaluate my situation here lately. i've had to move on from using makeup with young celebrity spokespersons like hilary duff and vanessa hudgens to ones a bit more 'mature', like susan sarandon and ellen degeneres! from fresh-faced light coverage to more lifting and age rewinding. Try dealing with that! arg! ;-)

can't wait to see your new look! i know it's gonna look great!! :-)
